Abstraction
My first thoughts about the word 'abstract' are that it suggests images which are strange, colourful, interesting, mysterious.
Here are some photos i took that are abstract.
Many abstract photos you don't realise what it is at first.

here i took some more images i blurred out some of the photo to make them more interesting and appealing.
People also try to work out
what it is
where it is.

abstraction i like to take photos of intresting detailed photos so it will appeal to more people.
What decisions did you make before you created your first photogram - what materials did you choose? How did you arrange them on the paper?
1. I decided to go for a circle theme so I put loads of circles on the paper out of loads of objects for example tub lids .earrings ,paper clips. I arranged them all over the sheet and a big circle in the middle.
2.i did not move them I arranged them and kept them in the same place ,but I did put some circles over lapping each other because it looked more intresting after multiple attempts.
3.i exposed some for 5 seconds and some for 8 the ones for 8 come out to dark and you could only see outline shapes and it didn't look appealing at all. so I tried with 5 seconds and it come out a lot more intresting.
4.the ones that didn't work as well was the ones I exposed for a longer amount of time 5 seconds is not to much nopt to little anymore comes out really dark.
5.i would experiment with more shapes and the way I layed it out to make it look more full and intresting.
- Did you keep the objects still or move them during the exposure? Were they all touching the paper or not? What effects have you managed to create e.g. shadows, tones, translucency, overlapping forms etc.
- Which of your photograms worked well? Explain why.
- Which of your photograms worked less well. Explain why?
- If you had more time in the darkroom, what you do differently and why?

I decided to work in the darkroom to make a series of photograms.
I changed the contrast of one of my photograms so that it was less washed out and grey:
I used Photoshop to create a duotone of one of my photograms:
Here is my final board of photograms, including a duotone made in Photoshop:
This is my board with a range of images I have taken and developed.
Multiple of the images were taken in the dark room and a few were taken outside and photoshopped and scanned and then put on my website.

My Abstraction Photobook
I decided to make a book using my photograms. I photocopied the images by laying them on the photocopier and choosing single colours like red and blue. I put the photocopies back in the copier and overlaid the images. Finally I used a black and white copy over the colours. I then had the idea to copy images onto tracing paper which I added to the book. The last step was to staple it together and trim the edges. I am really pleased with the finished book and one of my teachers has offered to buy it from me!
