Personal Project: Unusual Portraiture
Photographers have occasionally chosen to represent their subjects in unusual ways. Examples can be seen in the jumping portraits of Philippe Halsman, the 'Crying men' series by Sam Taylor-Wood and the carefully arranged work of Tim Tadder. Investigate relevant sources and produce your own work.
The reason why I chose this topic is because it looked interesting and I like the unusual way a lot of the portraits are taken and they are inspiring and give me a lot of ideas i could possibly do or get ideas from. I also am very pealed to how abstract many photographers make there photos and its very inspirational.

Image analysis
In this photo bye Lucas simons, its a very abstract photo in this photo I can see a man with multiple cut out shapes and multiple sheets of cut paper, he has layers the sheets of paper to make it look more abstract an intresting rather than a "ordinary" photograph when first looking at this photo I thought this was a smashed mirror until I looked closer and I can see the mans eyes and lips scattered around the photo. This is a vert abstract image I would not say this is much of a naturalistic image except the face as the face is natural except that there is nothing natural about this image.
The lighting in this image is very light and there is no shade and different lightings to it its just one light but it has a lot of mixtures of colours but there is not different lights.
This picture is foreground only there is no background to it.
The photographer wasn't very good with any of the space as he didn't use anything other than close up to face.
The photographer also used a large variety of colours in this photograph he used very neutral tones for colours sort of a range of skin tone colours there are around 6 different colours to this photo.
The photographer also used shade and tones of light in this colour some sections of the photo are rather dark this is based around the middle of the photo then towards the edge it gets lighter with is quite a cool abstract thing to do which you not realise unless you look into the photo in detail it gets lighter and lighter until your at the edge and its completely all white because white is the highest you can go.

Here I captured some headshots of people looking into the camera I got some photos of peoples face so I could create unusual portraiture.
I got people looking straight into the camera with no facial expressions this is so I can decide what I want people
to see when looking at these photos. I can edit these photos.

These photos are focusing on the daily lifestyle and focusing on peoples hands.
I chose this because its different abstract and interesting.
It is intreseting because we all have hands and there all different shapes style sizes. We all use these on a day to day life and its interesting everyones are different.
